The 2 cavernosum nestle into the back of the glans, so it's near impossible to cut the head off and not cut the tips off the cavernosum. And most of the blood is in the cavernosum.
If you just "scalp" the glans and remove only the skin that "draw" the glans you will cut over the cavernosa cones and so not cut them ;-)
