Excellent series of pictures showing how you create the hole, any particular reason for using Acrylic, heals better etc? With anything like this I have always cut the hole lengthwise with a scalpel with the idea that it more or less parts the tissue / nerves rather than cutting across and severing them.

Wow, that is a pretty cool way to get a hole in the shaft ! I did mine with a scalpel and did only cut less than 10mm at a time. I still have the acrylic rods of various sizes....?
