Hes right. And the smaller clamp hurts more to close and doesn’t crush the skin enough. I use a fairly large clamp now that i never thought id use but its been by far the most effective. I can clamp a lot farther down and will result in a little bit more transparent tissue to cut thru. These small clamps hurt and dont crush shit your better off not clamping at all really lol.

what size would you say is appropriate, particularly for a relative beginner?

This thread just inspired me to try again with my own but unlike michel i couldn't get them to close and have given up to wait for the 5% lidocaine cream to take effect so i can have another go.
